How old is "too old" to begin cosplaying?

miuukai
I'm currently 20 and I've never cosplayed or even gone to a con. Most likely I will not be able to go to one until my mid-20's. From what I've heard through friends or read online, most begin to cosplay/go to cons during their teens. My concern is when I reach that point where I have the ability to attend and participate in these events, will I stick out like a sore thumb (due to inexperience) or be placed under scrutiny because of my age? Perhaps, I shouldn't be worrying about this now. There's still about 4 years to go before I can make the final decision, but I still would like all of your opinions on it.

Last time I went to a convention it was mostly adults who cosplayed. The oldest was close to her mid sixties and everyone knew her as a yearly regular.

Such a thing doesn't exist. It's never too late to start cosplay. ^_^

Guess in some locations there are older groups that dominate the cosplay section.
