When you join MaiOtaku (pronounced My Otaku), you are prompted to fill out your basic personal profile, beginning with your name, birthdate, gender, orientation, and location. Afterwards, we ask you to complete a personality profile to help us understand what kinds of things you like. Then you add to your list of anime and manga that you have watched or read, while also adding to the list of conventions you've attended. Then our automated systems create matches personalized just for you. These are people similar to you in interests, tastes, age, and location. We have you create a standard profile, with some of the basic information. Then you start on a unique match profile, answering questions about your favorite kinds of anime and manga.
