My first is still mine now, Moka Akashiya(Inner Form), from Rosario + Vampire. And no it's not because she's a vampire.

Manga_bird, the term 'waifu' as we know it today originated from the mispronunciation of 'wife' in azumanga daioh. The concept itself of loving a fictional character however predates that by thousands of years. While many view it as a joke (I assume most people here), many also take it rather seriously (I being one of them). What a waifu is differs from person to person largely. Some might view their waifu as someone to aspire to be like, as a friend, as a goddess or thing of worship, but most commonly they're treated as something of a lover. For many, a waifu represents everything they could ever possibly want in a partner, but it also involves legitimate love. For some that means an ordinary down to earth girl, for others it might mean a demon robot from mars. Love comes in all shapes and forms. Trust me, when it comes to waifus I'm kind of an expert on the subject.
