Screwed up the last post, but here is a new one

Since anime is such a niche interest, and we make it a significant part of our lives, does being so into anime isolate us from potential romantic partners? It seems like couples need interests in common, so do you feel like it sort of restricts your ability to find a significant other?

For the amount of romantic partners I may loose to anime, I make up for in waifu- Waifu's? Waivus? Anyway, you know what I mean.

Woah man too much waifu will destroy your laifu

Yeah I think if you want to look at it that way you can. And could make valid points. But who is to say that if you lived your life differently you would not be in the same situation? Sure I can see how things may have been easier for me if I wasn't so anti-social. But now I am looking to keep my interests and my hobbies while still finding someone. If they share the same interests it is easier for them to accept me, but regardless I don't see why I should give it up when I enjoy it. So now just to learn to be more social.

Personally i think it's not impossible to find a romantic match even if you're interests don't necessarily align. What's important is to respect one another and accept one another's hobbies or passions, after all someone who has different interests than you may broaden your world which can be very positive. I mean have you seen the anime "i can't understand what my husband is saying?" It's about a married couple where the guy is an otaku and his wife is a "normal" person, it think it's quite relevant to this thread.

Socially I am totally fine, it's just still lonely sometimes when the interests are varied and you want to talk about the latest episode of an exciting anime or something. And I haven't watched that anime yet, but I'll give it a try. It looks fun, good idea.

Telling a women you like anime will almost always have her moon walking away in no time. Yes I'd say it can make things a fair bit harder. Probably best not to mention it till you're getting to know each other better and hope it doesn't bother them too much.

I suppose you have to break the barrier of peoples misconceptions. People may say OH NO I CAN DATE THEM THEY WATCH ANIME THAT IS TOO CHILDISH, but when you get down to it, I don't consider us to be childish, each person should be judged fairly. So if they will act childish, then call them childish, otherwise look at them on the same level as you. Just because someone has a certian like or dislike, is that really a good reason to reject them? Edit: I suppose I have an idea that there is no reason to fear liking anime, people who moon walk away when hearing that are immature in my opinion. If it makes you happy, then people will see this happiness. Who are they to determine what makes you happy? Sorry if I seem a bit ranty, kinda feeling that way tonight.

@neetone I would legitimately be impressed if she moonwalked away. I might even slow clap.
