if someone has a disability does it matter to you

whitewolf_3
A person's disability shouldn't be a turn off. The bottom line is that it's all about how people connect and work with each other through problems.

A disability may make the relation harder but hardships is what keep friendships together so I guess no, a disability shouldn't be an impediment if you really like someone.

People say that they don't mind disabilities until they're confronted by one. Me, case & point, have a disability and I'm constantly judged & fucked with by the masses. So yeah, it's nice to hear that people don't mind, but I seriously haven't met someone that honest to Odin didn't care/helped 100%/didn't run away from as of yet. ALL of you may actually be people who truly don't mind and are 100% honest but I never met any of you, so my comment will stay as such until proven otherwise to my face.

depends on the disability for me. Not because I judge people who have disabilities, but more like I judge my own ability to cope properly with certain disabilities or diseases. Like huntington's. I don't think I could handle being in a relationship with someone who has huntington's and watch the person I love go like that. :/

yup I agree with xueli, depends on the disability, I can't be with someone who is allergic to chocolate, It's just not gonna work out fam

as someone who actually has a vested interest in this topic, I guess I should explain myself. I definitely am looking through the responses and being overwhelmed by the amount of understanding shown. As someone who is confined to a chair, (I can do basic stuff for myself, just need help with a few of the bigger types of things) it's not always easy to even approach someone that I would find attractive because, in some cases, even if people can see you without noticing the chair, the chair still scares them away. I joined this website with the hopes of possibly finding someone in the future, it's at least nice to know that there are so many open-minded users around here.

doesn't matter to me, I'd still be with someone with a disability of any sort

Depends on the disability, If its too much for me to handle or it prevents me from doing what I want to do in life then I wont be with that person. They would be better off finding someone who can better take care of them. If its something minor then sure why not lol.
