I guess Gurren Lagann is fits your description. Basically it's about this boy named Simon who lives underground. He finds a small mech while digging around and it eventually leads him to the surface. It's a funny anime that really goes over the top and tries to grasp the epic feel of an anime. The action is great and the show just has a lot of charm. It's one of my favorites at least.

Put your phone on shuffle and hit next your first song is you opening theme song and the second is you fight scene song and post your results i got breaking benjamin- dance with the devil for opening and prismo - sences and fight song haha
