Teachers with guns

ryuseven_0
Like it, love it, hate it, worries. What are your thoughts about school teachers with guns in the class room.

My fear is we are re-inventing the mythical wild west for real this time.

I have no objection, but i do not think the issue needs pressing. A teacher, like everyone, has the right to bare arms. Certain jobs sites do not wish their employees to carry guns, if a school allows it i have no objections, but the school should not force a teacher to have a gun.

It's one thing to carry a gun, then it's another to know how to aim and fire accurately at another moving target who may or may not be shooting back at you. Because you're not carrying that firearm in hopes it will deflect someone else's bullet or knife attack

I don't agree with owning guns.. i mean, in my eyes if you're concerned with protection own a knife. you cant kill hundreds of people at once with a knife! i mean, sandy hook happened in my state only half an hour away from my hometown. so im really sensitive to the whole topic. theres no reason a normal person needs to own automatic assault rifles for "protection". nobody needs 30 round magazines to protect themselves. i mean, i approve of handguns and derringers in some cases but it is still MUCH more likely you'll hurt somebody you know than someone trying to hurt you

I prefer nuns with guns like Rosette Christopher. It's just sad that people are thinking we have to result to this. This shouldn't even be an issue PERIOD! What the hell happened to the good old days? I've never went to a school with check points and metal detectors or crap like that. Pisses me off. Sorry about going off guys. It's just saddens me and infuriates me we are having issues like this in USA. Maybe it's just a necessary evil? I dunno...

Most places on earth that have strict gun controls laws don't have this crap happening to them. In USA, it's just too easy for mentally ill or criminally intent people to get their hands on firearms. I honestly think the US constitution needs to be amended so that only the arm forces can have them. Citizens shouldn't be able to. I understand how people here have a strong connection to firearms and the patriotism and freedoms of this country but... times have changed... we don't live in the old west anymore.

^this guy knows what he's talking about. japan has super strict gun laws and anually has like 11 gun deaths a year.. they had 22 once and the emperor said they were a disgrace to the country. +1 for psychological examinations for the rights to own a gun.

Gun laws are not the issue, regarding alot of recent incidences. The major issue is the lack of attention to the real issues like mental illness and parenting. Mental illness needs to be looked at more thoroughly and more seriously than it currently is. There is a huge lack of attention to that issue, because people are always "oh he had a gun! We need more gun laws!" I agree there should be regulation put on if there is a mentally ill person in the house, but other than that there is no need to limit the right to bare arms. News flash criminals don't fallow laws, so you are only hurting the law obeying citizens by the creation of gun laws. @ Misskittehcat, believe me when i say, no matter the weapon it can kill just like any other. You can turn almost any household item into a weapon.

Mental illness and criminal record, are in my opinion the only things that should keep you from owning a gun legally. There should be a psychology evaluation when you go to get your gun licence, as well as the people in your house.
