momoichi
iv noticed awhile ago that anime is super offensive o.o it totally objectifys woman o.O treats like like objects, harems totally play with girls emotion leading them on and all those fan service scenes just treat woman like sexual objects does anyone else notice that?

Targeting it's audience and playing generic character formulas and flag paths for the most part. Although you can get a general feel for an anime before watching it if you check the genre and one of the many sites with a summary of it. So offensive or just dull ones can be avoided all together.

You also gotta take in Part of the Culture from where it came from. Japanese culture share some similarities with US because of Post-WW2 Japan Occupation but they do have their own perks too.

It's not insulting if the women act that way on purpose. That's just how most girls in Japan act.

Why would you bring this up if you like it so much And its a different culture

BlazingRedFreesia: The hell that's true! Most girls in Japan, or ANYWHERE, do not act like that. o.O What IS true is that the cartoon's elements will vary depending on the target audience. Shugo Chara, for example, focuses on being true to yourself and following your dreams because it's in the genre for little girls. High School of the Dead, on the other hand, has zombies and kick-ass action and lots of boobies because the show is targeted towards guys.

There is a sensual layer to anime, just like most forms of "entertainment". Personally i look past the obvious fan service and see what is hidden by it. Example: Freezing, lot of fan service at times, but actually has an interesting story to it.

That's what I liked about Vorfeed in Lost Universe, she had a big chest, but it was presented in a way that made her look nurturing and sweet instead of a pervert's dream.
