Pirate speak

Last night while I was at con my friend texted my new phone that doesn't have anyone's number in it. His text said "Ahoy matey!" to which I responded "Ahoy Matey an who be ye?" I think he laughed too hard to respond so while he did that I added "I 'ave me a new parrot box an it know ye not." Which probably made him laugh so hard cause it took him a few minutes to respond, and he responded with "You've been watching One Piece again?" to which I responded "Matey this be my true pirate self. An fer yer information we pirates 'ave an education. We been readin' far more than ye landlubbers. I prefer the manga o'er the anime. Always totin' me copy wit me on long voyages." He didn't know I can speak fluent pirate. :P Be ye a scurvy pirate an can ye speak the proper pirate tongue?
