Good one ;) Just wanted to let you know that I've started with the fan fiction. You can probably expect it this week.

The fan fiction, as promised: Tap, tap, tap. A small figure is waiting at the side of the road with his arms akimbo. The Lalafell’s crimson eyes are darting back and forth as streams of shoppers push past him. Where is she, he thought. Maybe she chickened out because she was too nervous. She gave me her word that she would be here. These thoughts were roiling in his mind as he impatiently waited for someone. Just as he was about to give up he spotted among the crowd the familiar succubus resting on a shining blonde head. It was another Lalafell but a female one. The pale, female Lalafell came to a stop in front of her waiting kinsman. “What took so long Taru!?” he barked. Her eyes fell timidly to the ground. “Well…um…there was this really beautiful robe…”. He turned away in a huff. He walked on without even checking if Taru was following. He knew in his heart that she would because they needed each other. The two Lalafells let themselves be swept along with the other would-be shoppers to the tunnels. Everyone was streaming along to the Limsa markets. They languidly strolled along the vendors surveying the wares that were on display. It was a nice, relaxing break from battling monsters and trekking through hostile environments. Taru froze next to a clothing vendor, “Ooooh look at this beautiful dress Novu. It’s a bit expensive though.”. Novu swept the grey hair from his eyes to look at the richly brocaded emerald dress that his companion was holding up. It would definitely match her green eyes beautifully. “Tell you what, I’ll buy the dress for you.” he confidently told Taru. The swarthy Lalafell quickly handed over the money before Taru could protest. She tentatively took the dress to examine it, as if she couldn’t believe she owned something so beautiful now. “Thank you, Thank you so much,” she said to the male Lalafell, “I’ll treasure this always.”. Right at this moment a large boorish human came charging through the tunnel. He crashed into the female Lafalell and the impact made her stumble. She felt a strong, warm grip on her hand that stopped her fall. Taru looked up to see a determined Novu holding on to her. She blushed as he helped her upright. The Lalafell monk turned to the man running on down the tunnel and shouted “Hey asshole! Don’t run away from me.”. The stranger slowly turned around and unwaveringly walked back. As he neared them Novu and Taru could see he was a Gladiator encased in imposing armour. A big sneer stretched across the human’s face as he regarded the two small individuals in front of him. “Stay behind me Taru”, Novu said while stepping forward. Everything happened so rapidly. The human unsheathed his sword and reached for his shield in one movement and lunged forward. The monk ducked under the sword. The shield hit him with a glancing blow though. Novu staggered back and collected himself. The gladiator readied himself for another sally. Notwithstanding the pain he felt, the swarthy Lalafell uncoiled like a spring and was just a blur as he flew through the air. The monk slammed into his adversaries’ head with a clearly audible crunch. A moan escaped from gladiator as he crashed to the ground. Taru ran to her companion concerned. She saw that the monk was a little unsteady on his feet. “You’re injured Novu! Stand still while I heal you.” “Fine.” Novu said impatiently. He grumbled all the time Taru was patching him up. The Lalafell magician tenderly patched him up cooing over this and that bruise. When she was done, she said with a flourish “There you go. Now you’re fit as a Chocobo again.”. Novu mumbled something that sounded like a “thank you” though Taru couldn’t be sure. The two Lalafells pushed through the crowd, leaving their defeated foe on the floor of the marketplace. The sun was weakening by the time they reached an open air area. They stood awkwardly looking up at the sky. Suddenly Novu bluntly stated “What about we have dinner here?”. “Like a d-d-date!?” she spluttered. “Yes,” he peered deep into her eyes. “We can take a break to prepare and I’ll meet you again here in about an hours’ time. I hope to see you in that dress.”. Overcome by the abruptness, all Taru could do was to summon up a weak smile. Novu was standing under a tree in the square while gazing up at the star filled sky. She is late again, he thought bitterly. She can’t even follow simple instructions. I don’t even know why I bother. He massaged his temples fitfully while giving a heavy sigh. He suddenly heard Taru’s familiar footsteps behind him. He angrily twirled, “I said come here in about an hour. Why…” His voice trailed off as he saw her standing in the soft moonlight. The dress fit her like a second skin, as if she was the only one on the planet that could ever wear it. Her golden hair was elegantly collected in a bun that refracted the silver moonlight. She looked questioningly at him when she noticed his intense stare. “Oh. Uuum, I just think I saw a stray hair” he said quickly. He strode over to her and tenderly with his hand combed the supposedly stray hair behind her ear. Averting her eyes from his gaze Taru said shyly “Thank you for that.”. He puffed out his chest, “Yes, well, I can’t have my companion walking around with her looks being marred by little stuff like that.”. The female Lalafell nodded in agreement. She knew what he was trying to say. “You look nice too Novu.” she quipped. Taru did find the other Lalafell very handsome at that moment. He was dressed in a cream robe that she had picked out for him on a previous adventure. It accentuated the hard lines of his physique. “This time there was a very good reason for me being late” Taru said as she started walking towards Novu. She seemed to be gliding as the dress rustled softly. The Lalafell monk looked on with a puzzled expression as she grew nearer. She produced two little wooden boxes saying cheerfully “I got dinner, silly. I don’t know what you thought.”. Novu brusquely took the one box. He opened it and looked inside to see a very decorative meal of rice and vegetables arrayed in beautiful flower patterns. “Come over here”, he says while beckoning for her. “I’ve found us a nice little spot here for us under this tree. Novu led his companion to the area behind the tree. Taru saw a dainty little bench with a clear view of the city and the night sky. They both summarily took a seat next to each other on the bench. Eating her succulent meal in silence she quickly glanced at him; she saw a hint of warmth and enjoyment in his eyes. She quickly stared down at again her meal when his eyes swivelled in her direction. A grin crept across his face. Novu sat back satisfied with a sigh when he finished his meal. Taru put away both boxes into her bag. “Just look up at the sky for a moment, Taru.” The little Lalafell followed Novu’s advice and gazed up at the sky. Numbers upon numbers of stars blinked fiercely back at her. The moon hung full and round in the sky. From this scene she got an overwhelming sense of the vastness of this universe. “Thank you. For everything” she said tenderly to him. She only saw two shoulders shrugging nonchalantly in the semi-darkness. Taru leaned in closer and gave a quick him a quick peck on the cheek. The monk froze in surprise. Stretching out sleepily with an exaggerated yawn she stated “I’m very tired. I think I’m going to lie here.”. With that Taru gently rested her head against her companion’s shoulder. Novu didn’t move as she fell asleep while being bathed in the moonlight.

Thanks Flamboyance. I'm glad you like it. I made him tough because I can remember you said he didn't like the fluffy stuff so much. So I tried to strike a balance in the story :>0
