PSO-Phantasy Star Online

@purefault I totally agree, I NEVER would have thought I would play such a simple game for so long and love it so much, especially since I only paid about 10 bucks for it I think haha(original xbox purchase not recent gamecube one lol). I think part of what kept/has kept me going with the game has been kind of a "hero" complex of sorts(maybe?), thinking that I need to save Red Ring Rico, to get stronger and stronger to where I can fell just about any enemy with one blow, even on the Ultimate difficulty, and continued to think/feel that way even after I learned that there was/is sadly no way to save her. Yeah I can understand that, I imagine it's sort of 2 fold compared to other games because its such a simple game so it's easier to get burnt out on even when just watching. I wish I had some friends who where into it. I tried getting my brother and a few of my friends interested but the most that ever happened was a little humoring to the extent of creating a character and playing 2 or 3 times, which I enjoyed and appreciated but well, you know. Good to hear you have PSO friend haha. Even better to know one who has some good items *wink wink* lol. I've done a bit of that myself, I had virtually every rare weapon that the Skyly ID section could get *I believe, at least from judging from the Drop section page of "psoworld.com"*. Aside from the Sealed J-Sword which I had been unable to find, which is INSANE to try and find haha, I believe the rarest item I found was the Red Sword which for Skyly had a 1/901 drop rate, unless you count finding 2 or 3 AddSlots haha. Hope I can find more of those. Until my xbox had RLOD problems a week or so ago I "just" managed to level my main character up to level 114. He was a level 114 HUMar with a Skyly section ID with a Rati Mag. I also just started, a day or two before the xbox crash, a Hunwearl character because of the difficulties I was facing trying to get through the rest of the Ultimate area's on Episode 1 and 2 by myself as a hunter since I learned that the Hunwearl could cast shifta and deband on themselves. I wasn't sure that I would get anywhere near my main but I thought "why not, I never thought I would play this long to begin with so who knows?".

That's definitely awesome you got that far, though. And although your 360 might have died, your saves are still safe! Also, I've heard that since experience from each level to the next is exponential, going from level 180-200 is supposedly the same as 1-180... I actually just won a regular GC copy of PSO (Plus is going for over 100 now =/ ), so I may start playing it again eventually... maybe I'll make it to Ultimate someday. I know the bosses are different too. As far as I know, I still have my save from back in the day as well. That must have been... 10 years ago now? I like how you actually get a lot of story just from reading those little messages left behind. I actually have a copy of the original for Dreamcast as well, but never bothered playing it. haha. I wish there was more to the side missions, though. Also, have you ever played PS Zero for DS? I didn't get too far into it, but played it a good bit and thought it was pretty good.

Thank you very much. Yeah, very true. It would be easier I imagine to continue playing with the saves if it was on the 360 instead of the original xbox but it is what it is. There's always the "swap internal hard drives with another original xbox" that might work. But even if I can't play my original saves, I'm glad that they are still alive ^_^ That experience gained to get from level 180-200 is a scary prospect.......I wish you hadn't told me that lol. I thought it was bad enough having to get 128k(ish) as it was!lol Really? Cool, how did you win it? I know, it's crazy. I managed to get lucky enough to find and buy/broke down paid for a plus version for 60 bucks. I missed my chance on one for 45 bucks but I was wavering due to lack of pictures since there was only the disc. That's the spirit! Oh yeah, that was also a small motivator for me, the enemy visual changes, which extended to all the enemies and not just the bosses. I'll warn you though, the lilies become annoying on Ultimate because they become Ob Lillies which use Megid and they love to spam you with the lilies sometimes and at odd angles such as in two different corners of a room you just walked into so you have to be on your guard. Oh and if you get too close they give you a permanent paralysis *not the one that goes away if you wait a few seconds*. Cool, I hope it still works fine ^_^ I'm sure it probably does, hey my xbox lasted about 12 years. I enjoyed that too, they kind of become like candy for you to look for haha. They also helped you feel closer to Rico, become more emotionally tied to the game. Really? You should try it just to compare the versions of the games haha. Not to mention the graphics haha. I'm not a real big person on graphics either way but its still interesting to see the differences in games over the years. Yeah I agree or at the very least more offline missions. At least they added a few more on the plus version though not too many more. I can't say I have. I haven't even searched much beyond the xbox version, partly because I never thought about it/knew of how many others there were. I'm afraid I might compare them a little more than I should to the first one I played which is near and dear to my heart haha.

Yep, swapping internal HD's will work just fine. It's actually not too hard to do with original Xbox's. I just bid on one that didn't have many bids, and I didn't big until the last 5 seconds or so. Plus must have shot up to $100+ over the past year or so. Same thing happened with Bomberman 64 The Second Attack for N64. I let my cousin borrow mine many, many years ago but never got it back. A few years back, I thought about rebuying it, but just the cartridge sold for upwards to $60... I should have went for it then, because now it sells for over $120. I ended up just getting the Japanese version, though, which goes for under $30 usually. I'll keep that in mind. It'll be a long time before I get anywhere far with the game again, so I'll just learn Ultimate mode as I go. From what I've seen, the graphics are fairly comparable. The Dreamcast was a smooth and powerful system for its time, however, I think the DC version did have a lot of frame rate slowdown.

Always love winning a bid ^_^ Hard to believe how you can still see how gamestop USED to have it in stock for 4 or 5 bucks lol. Huh I never even knew there was a second Bomberman game for the 64. I have enough trouble trying to beat the first one on the 64 lol. Hmm I think you need to stop letting people borrow your games *he says jokingly* Oh on that topic......I can I borrow a game or two? lol jk. Hope I didn't play that too far. It always burns when you realize "Dang, I should have gone for it at that point!". Well as long as you can make it work for you that's great. Learning as you go is a good part of the fun, until you get hit by the first megid that is lol. CURSE YOU, YOU NEVER ENDING OB LILIES!!!!! lol Really? Huh go figure. Ah well I guess that's not terribly surprising.

I can't imagine that game being that cheap... ever... haha. Same with how they use to have Skies Of Arcadia Legends for under 20. Actually, that one is the third Bomberman game for N64. Bomberman Hero came out second. Bomberman 64: The Second Attack is one of the most difficult games I've ever played, but it's very rewarding to complete levels. The last final boss (the true one) is incredibly punishing. I never actually beat it the right way because after spending hours fighting the final boss, I accidentally reset the game. I think maybe some part of me did it purposefully... heh. Maybe it was subconscious... I'm glad I still have my Dreamcast. I rarely play it now, but I do go back to a few games every now and then. It was just the most hype system for me back in the day, and I still have my launch model. I even have a JP one now. haha.

Dang I took awhile to get back haha. Really? Dang, never knew they even went as far as to make 3! Cool though, I enjoyed/do enjoy playing Bomberman, even though I'm probably not that great haha. I don't like the dragon in the first one for the N64. Probably one of the hardest games I've beaten was Blinx: The Time Sweeper for the original Xbox, it took me 7 years of off and on playing to beat it, have you heard of it? Reset the game? Ouch, that almost hurts just reading that. Maybe haha. That's pretty cool haha.
purefault
I'm kinda late too. I'm moving soon, so I may not be on for a few days. I've heard of Blinx, but I've never played it. I'm hoping for a new Bomberman game one of these days, especially another action/adventure one. There are some other games in a similar genre that I've never played. Jak and Daxter, Rachet and Clank, etc. I'd like to try those, but I still need to play more of the games I own that I've barely touched. Also, Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to the PS4 in Japan. No word on if it'll ever come to the US, but since PS4 is region free, as long as non-JP IP's aren't blocked, I may get it. I actually have it for Vita, but just haven't put any time into yet.

I understand, life keeps us busy after all.....sadly haha. Thanks for the heads up. It was one of the first, if not the first, xbox game to come out. What made it so hard is that even though you had more than one life, if you were hit or touched by an enemy even once then you died. There were probably about 8ish bosses in the game before the final boss with the latter of them being harder versions of the first 4. When you made it to the final boss of the game he sent you into a time loop sort of thing and forced you to face the harder versions of the first four bosses back to back in a boss rush kind of mode BEFORE you went straight into fighting him. Not to mention that there are no breaks in-between any of the battles and so if you die then you have to start ALL over from the first boss again. He also can control time as well so yeah lol. A little difficult to beat XD You can bet that I felt some accomplishment after that. Oh yeah....you only have 9...maybe 12 hearts(lives) max, I think? You never know what's on the horizon though from the last one or two Bomberman-like games that I've seen show up it doesn't look to promising so far. My brother has played a number of the Rachet and Clank games, the ps3 versions, and it looks like a lot of constant, silly/fun shooting, with ridiculous weapons haha. Oh yeah, trust me I know what you mean. I still have.....roughly 16-18 games to go through myself. All the way from N64 to PS3 games XD Cool, hopefully it will make it over here in the US. Also hoping for another Project Diva game.
