DisenTomb ~Page One~ Dark Favor It was late November when I was visited by a familiar stranger. Middle of the night I was lying in bed trying to grasp to sleep but failing horribly. I was sick with a head cold. Tossing and turning on the queen twisting the sheets around me. Just could not get comfortable. As I turned back over to face my bedroom window that is when I saw him. He was staring at me through the glass and white curtains. His height would intimidate most men if not for the fact he was slouching his shoulders with his hands tucked in his coat's pockets. I've only met him before once a long time ago. He had saved my life. My hometown was being invaded by a Necromancer. A power hungry one with an army of the undead. So many people died, so many homes burned to the ground. It was a nightmare. Nothing could stop the bastard. My parents being guardians lost their lives to him trying to rescue others. I ran to their fallen bodies crying madly and numb of knowing how close death was to me. That is until he came. Landing like a angel from the heavens. Wings like a raven folding behind him. A scythe in his left hand with the blade resting on his shoulder. I thought to myself 'Please be one of God's.' The necromancer never stood a chance. In a blink of an eye he was holding our nightmare's head unattached from his body and his scythe stained. There was pure glee written all over his face. All that was left around him was walking lifeless bodies. I remember I could only stare at him as he had taken me to safety and placed me down inside a catholic church. "Don't get in my way." He told me strictly whilst glaring at me as if I would defy him. His hands were stained with red as well as his face. Reminding me of Indian war paint."Ok-kay." I stuttered while impolitely staring at his elf like ears and shark like teeth. Then he left me there so he could battle the undead that plagued outside.I did not venture out until the sunrise. By then he was gone and so were the monsters. That was quite a time ago.. I was very young so anything before it and afterwards I can hardly recall. I still remember though that voice and his bear grip around me. It was not warm or comforting. Slowly getting up wondering if I was dreaming I opened the window to invite him in. My mother's voice rang in my head like an alarm. 'NEVER invite the Ripper!'He stepped inside taking off his trenchcoat and placing it on my chair next to my work desk. "You remember me?" He asked softly without glancing at me but more at my small room. There was a look of amusement at my origami collection as he picked up a green crane. "How can I forget?" I answered fascinated once more by his appearance. How could a man be so pale? He even looked like he glowed in the dark. What was even odder was his hair. A deep auburn held back in a ponytail that touched the back of his legs. It was like having a character from the movie Constantine come alive in my room. Except he was not anything like them that I would later find out. "I have come to you for only one reason." He spoke coming closer to me. I dared not move with fear crawling up my spine. His eyes stared into me giving me the chills. His sclera that would be white if he was human were ink black. He did not have pupils. Just cold violet eyes. "More of a favor." He touched my face with his cold hand. I was very wary of his claws. "What is it?" I asked him hoping I did not seal my fate. I did not know this man if even he was such and yet I felt compelled to invite him in to be near me. Was it because he saved my life and my simple mind sees him as my knight in shining armor when he could be my diabolic doom? He leaned in close invading my personal bubble with his infectious scent of desecrated earth. A kiss would be appropriate at this moment if we were a couple in a romantic scene I suddenly thought. "Let me sleep beneath your bed." He seductively whispered in my ear making my eyes close in response. That is until reality hit and my brain processed his words. I snapped my eyes open and looked at him in a stupor. The male smirked lazily at me waiting for me to answer him. "H-huh?" I stupidly replied. "Do you not understand me? I said let me sleep under your bed. I have traveled too far from my grave. I am tired and do not want to force myself in the heat of the day to walk back home." He complained rolling his eyes and head like it was such a pain to explain himself. "Why would I allow this?" I asked slightly annoyed by his behavior. Did he have to be so mean sounding?" Because I saved your life." He growled at me already plopping down on my bed and removing his shoes." I remember but that doesn't exactly mean I have to do anything for you." Arrogance ran in my blood thickly. There was a moment of silence that lasted for eternity. His clawed hand lashed out like a cobra grabbing me by my hair and dragging me painfully down below his eye level which was me landing on all fours like a dog. All I could feel when I looked up at him was complete terror. He looked to eat me alive with his bared razor teeth. A sickening smile. I felt a powerful pressure on my body as if my whole skeleton would crumble from it. What was he doing to me? Why?As if he read my mind or maybe he actually could the sinister false angel answered me with a darkly amused tone. "Silly creature. Do you not know who I am?" I shook my head painfully feeling my tears streak my face. He took a moment to enjoy my fear and submissive position. "I am God's finest creation." He spoke with pride even slightly puffing his chest like some alpha. His hold on me tightening spreading pain through my scalp. He was glaring down at me no longer grinning making me wish now that I did not invite him in. "I am Death." .. ... ~Lost man, Dead man, Knocking on the door. Cankerman, Soreman, knock no more.~
