Trains Ruin Relationships In Anime

WARNING: This thread does have some spoilers from two different animes and this thread has alot to read. If you feel too lazy to read it all, escape now. So, I'm currently rewatching Space Dandy (currently at season 2) and watched 5 Centimeters Per Second a while ago. On Space Dandy, there's this one episode where Dandy and Scarlet go out on a "pretend date" to get Scarlet's ex-boyfriend to leave her alone (the "rebound" defence). Scarlet and Dandy weren't liking it at first, but they actually started liking each other near the middle to end of the episode. This plan horribly backfires so Scarlet's ex-boyfriend freaks out and tries to kill Dandy to get Scarlet back. So a bunch of stuff happens and the ex-boyfriend gets arrested for alot of crimes he did on that planet. So after all that, Dandy is on his ship with Scarlet's music CD he borrowed (you'd know what I mean if you watched the episode) and wants to give it back. Dandy goes on this search for Scarlet to give that CD back. So after like 5 minutes of searching (not in-anime time) he finds Scarlet but then WHAM! A train blocks Dandy's path for what seemed like an eternity and even when the train passed, Scarlet was gone and everyone went back to their normal routine without a second thought about what happened that night. Now on to 5 Centimeters Per Second. So this is a story about the lives of Tohno Takaki and Shinohara Akari. It's mainly about Tohno, but whatever. So on Part 2 of the movie, Tohno was on his way from school and walked past Akari without even knowing it. While it took a few seconds to process that it was her, he stopped to see if she would turn around at the same time as her. Right before he could make sure it was her, WHAM! A train blocks them seeing each other after a long time of being away from each other. So you see, trains blocking the main lover characters are one of the most annoying parts of Romance anime. 'Nuff said and done. Thanks for reading!
