Society Issues

I've been noticing, a really nasty pattern in society. It's not just United States either. It's everywhere. Is the whole world going to be superficial? If you're no a size zero, it's frowned upon? Girls fifteen and twelve going on diets. Plastic Surgery is such a common thing in Korea, it's too be expected. You can't be a model if you don't look like this? Oh you can have this part in the play, if you lose twenty pounds. It's gotten to the point, that we al have a certain expectation of beauty. Well at least for me anyway. What do you think?

Yeah.. I know what you mean. Being a girl at the age I am, I feel all these pressures. Even when I actually try to rationalize that wanting to be 80 pounds isn't healthy, and shouldn't be sought after, it still gets to me sometimes. It's a little depressing sometimes when you feel like you aren't worth it because you're not a certain weight and thus don't deserve anything. So yeah, those expectations are definitely there. I feel them every day, and I know my friends do too. I think media does play a huge part. You see pretty girls all on TV, and you make that your standard. I've stopped watching TV for a few years now, but still. Meh.. I feel there should be something done so all the pressures society puts on you aren't that extreme. Otherwise things aren't going to get better.

Bullying people for the way they look or act is another example that pisses me off. But that is less a problem in society but more like a common phenomenon in human nature. Theres bad guys, theres good guys and theres people that get easily influenced. But what I hate the most and cant stand are people who bully someone for something he/she likes a mlot. Like someone here made a topic that he/she got bullied in school for liking anime. I swear If I was at that school I would go teach everyone a lesson who tries to make others feel ashamed for his favorite things/hobbies. I wouldnt kill them. No because murder is bad. But if i happen to accidently remove an arm or a finger or two then thats not my fault. I have a good lawyer. He's jew.

ALso whats up with everyone copying each other. I rarely see someone with his own style. Just those retarded oversized rapper pants and muscle shirts even though most people who wear them dont have any muscles at all lol. I can understand iof you see someone and say '' Hey that looks awesome i should buy those sneakers'' or something like that. But people just try to fit into bigger groups by copying their looks and behavior. You know why they do that ? because they are weak. But theres nothing wrong with being weak. At first everyone is weak. you are born as a baby that needs someone to feed and raise it before it can actually stand on its own and decide its way. If you feel weak then go train harder or do something that makes you feel complete.

I think its strange when men or women surgically alter themselves just because they think they will look more appealing when in fact the surgery usually leaves them looking odd. I think it's just a socially generated mental disorder. Another thing is when oriental women put that damn glue on their eyes to make them look like a "westerner" or look like an anime character, it's nuts! The glue is toxic and the women who do it would look so beautiful if they didn't use that damn glue! It doesn't make them look attractive at all. As for the weight issue, I have a hard time believing the many people who claim to be locked in their current state by genetics. Many people come from obese families and by all rights should be obese themselves, but they aren't. They don't starve themselves, they didn't change cause they hate themselves, they don't take diet pills. They eat right, they sleep right, they exercise right and they live right. They don't do these things to impress anybody, they do it because they love how they feel at the end of the day. If you are plus sized, that's okay. But don't put myself or anyone else down because we desire a fit, healthy partner. You can blame it on hundreds of thousands of years of evolution. And I'm not saying an 80 lb stick is attractive, that is the same as obesity just in the opposite direction. Give me a 120 lb fit women any day. But if you make the excuse that you're stuck the way you are because of genetics, I seriously doubt that's the case since over weight people are a recent development in our species (do you think there were over weight cavemen running around, I don't think so), you just don't know the hard work it takes to make the change.

Do think, we all just follow what's being told? I do, sadly. Follow the fashions, give away clothes when there no 'in' anymore. Try to look a certain way.. The sickening thing is it's like it's be hammered into my head, that that is what I should look like. Do you think media and internet can become dangerous? With how much power they have?
