Can girls and Guys actually be just friends?

There is actually a lot of debate that I found on this topic. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_lh5fR4DMA I personally think it doesn't really ever end well. Especially if one is significantly more attractive. It is bound to develop a one sided affection. I'm not saying that this always happens, but most of the time it does. What do you think?

Well there might be cases where people feelings change because you find out how "amazing" this person is and begin to develope feelings later.

Of course I do, I have a few really close friends that are girls. We've never done anything at all and we've hung out a lot and went out and had fun. It's just how people's perspectives are on this issue. Anyone can be a friend of anyone, it just all boils down to how that person perceives it and their opinions.

I think so too. I have guy friends and we're really close, but none of us want to be romantically involved. For various reasons of course, but I think it's very doable to have close guy friends without having romantic interest

Of course boys & girls, men & women can be plutonic friends. I have many female friends who I have zero interest in making it anything more than friends and vice versa. I also have friends friends who I've had sex with and we're still friends. Now some of those females who are friends, both in which I messed with or not messed with, caught feelings and wanted to make something more out of what we had going and I respectfully declined. Those girls called me all kinds of things; asshole, tease, dog. I accept that. Generally, when a person asks for something and is told no they tend to get upset and lash out at whoever is pissing them off. Besides, I AM an asshole, dog, tease and what not. If I don't want a romantic relationship, I don't have one. Period. And when women try to use anything to change my mind (Food, sex, anime, whatever) and it doesn't work, apparently I'm all those names I just said.

I have a male friend that I fully consider to be a brother anything romantic with him would feel like incest to me. I've had other male friends in the past that were cool to hang out with but just not my type.

It can workout just fine, I have alot of friends who are girls. Granted there is physical and mental attraction here and there but overall we are friends. We hangout, have fun, and watch each other's back.
