Yo, I'm Sumisu - The Arcane Cabalist; a British Psychology/Economics/English Language/Law Student with future aspirations being a Sign Language interpreter, or Counselling Psychologist. PM me if you like conversations about Key and Kyoto Animation particularly, or philosophical conversations about why we are here, how people are not merely ourselves but the sum of each interaction we have with another and of their lives - that it's a miracle people are capable of communicating how they feel through actions and gestures, yet there are still things we can't convey; which causes language to change and other abstract concepts about who we are.

I'm always happy to converse with people who've suffered adversity if they need to vent or want support, even if it's only a little, and I hope I can make friends in this community which is so varied and dear to me. I've come to believe that suffering in this world is ultimately here to show us value and prove that it's worth living - that it's fine to cry and express how we feel, that we're all the same and life will always change - that we're not perfect and human is all we'll ever be and need be.

My journey into anime began nearly a decade ago; during a music lesson in a Primary School Computer Room during what was a very dark period of my life. The only time in my life where a mis-spelling helped me; where I found Kanon 2006, rather than Pachebel's Canon, which I did find eventually but only when they mentioned it in an episode. It was likely the pivotal moment of my childhood, particularly Sayuri's backstory and Shiori's arc which resonate still with a light I find absolutely beautiful - understanding.

Over the subsequent years I've seen literally hundreds of different series; with Kyoto Animation's animation being doubtlessly my favourite of any company. Typically I'm a large fan of mostly - Romance, Drama, Slice-of-Life and Slightly Supernatural series, The only genres I'm not too interested in are heavy gore and typical horror series although if there is a good spin or great element that compliments I will probably enjoy it.

I am of the opinion that some Dubbed series are good, specifically The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya because Crispin Freeman is a legend and his Kyon performance, especially in Disappearance of Haruhi, is amazing. I believe that most series should have a dub to make it more popular over in the west, there are so many amazing series without a dub that people won't give a chance which is really unfair.

Overall, I'm Sumisu, I write long winded, philosophical discussions in a way that makes it hard to tell whether I'm optimist, pessimist, idealist or realist but I love anime as a defining part of my life and I sincerely hope we can be friends!
