Very true. I believe my past relationships assisted in my development and maturity in relationships. I know what I'm looking for and I understand how a median needs to be met when there's a disagreement. There is never a "no". A relationship is a partnership, a team that works together due to the feelings they share. If the people are serious about each other, nothing would stand in their way.
