If a random house gets hit by lightning, does that mean it was god's justice? Shit happens and the earth doesn't care. Also, it's not the steeple that protects, it's lightning rods that are grounded which divert the lightning and even that isn't a complete guarantee. Lightning is no joke.lol

And they could provide viable evidence as to how and why something happened and you'd say "You're wrong!". Your point? You see things as you want them to be, it's that simple. I'm not saying there arent some weird things out there, I'm just saying even if there's a God, it's not always some sort of divine justice or sign. I could just as easily say it's Thor's vengeance against Christianity.

if I was going to that church I could say the lightning strike was a sign from God that speaking on LGBT issues isn't enough and we need to go out actively helping. That's why the church was burned down as a message from God not be too attached to material things and instead focus on charity. I just came up with that, it's all on how you want to see it.
