Religious rants

I firmly stand in the camp that George was a POS. If you wanted a good example of injustice then Philnado Castile was it. If they made a mural of Philando then God would not have sent a bolt of lightning.

Oh, I'm not arguing that the person wasn't shitty.

If there is a God (I say "if" from my stand point, for I truly can't know.), exactly my point.

And what of his angels? Im not that far in the bible but i do onownhe has sent angels to do stuff. But i do believe that these are the "coincidences" that are evidence of a God. Back to your point of churches being tall and stuff maybe its the same case why would God allow lighting to strike his own place of worship? If not because things are happening within it he does not approve of. Its not that crazy to think bad actors are present in the church. The George floyd mural, the lgbt church, things of that nature.

No.... Tall things tend to attract lightning, they've known this for centuries. Now, they might not have understood why, but it wasn't some spiritual mystery. I mean, there's a reason they say not to hide under a tree during a lightning storm. As for the mural? Dumb luck.lol I think, as a religious person, you tend to see things through "religious eyes". I was like that too.

I like how Yaas and I have had our spats but we seem to be on the same page in this thread mostly. This is all superstitious nonsense. Things break down from the environment all the time. The Earth is very volatile. There was a church that got hit by lightning in my area and burned down. It was a small local church. It had a tall tower, that's really all there was to it. The Jesus statue in Brazil gets hit by lightning all the time. Damaged by it, that's not a sign of anything. That's just a big tall structure.

It was destroyed in 1862 by a fire according the wiki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Congregational_Church_(Spencer,_Massachusetts) It's a big wooden building with people lighting candles. It's good fuel for fire.
