any fans of DOOM (2016)?

Yup. Love it to death and a real return to form after 20 something years. I love Doom 3 to death as well but seeing good ol' Doom make a return in this day and age is bloody wonderful especially after the deluge of bland, uninspired, generic military shooters that plagued the FPS genre last gen (Except for Singularity, that game is REALLY damn good, by far the best of its kind). While I'm taking a break off it for now, I like to dick around in Snapmap - my latest map was similar in style to the original Bioshock and it took AGES to get everything right but it was well worth making. The multiplayer is alright but the single player campaign is excellent <3 The combat, the level design, the weapons, the monsters, the lore and the over-the-top self aware style makes it perhaps the best shooter I've played in at least 5 years (Last one was Serious Sam 3 from 2011, another awesome game that's still awesome today just like all the other Serious Sam games).

OMG Yes! Shooters are finally fun again. I'd give it 2 years before we see a sequel of some kind. Hopefully Bethesda stays on track here with dishonored. You not a fan of Overwatch Nerd?

There is playing memory in the Mega drive 32x version in Doom. Is that relevant to this series?

I see, it isn't a remake. FPS was being called Doom type game then in Japan.^^;

There are some REALLY good Doom clones though - stuff like Duke Nukem 3D (Accidentally typed Forever, whoops :I), Shadow Warrior, Blood, Marathon, Powerslave and Star Wars: Dark Forces which became the Jedi Knight series. There's just something about shooters from the 90s that makes them so good and awesome to this very day whereas I reckon a lot of modern shooters will age poorly in the years to come just like Half-Life 1 did (imo it aged badly on a mechanical standpoint).
