What genres of music do you like and do you play any instrument?

wildchild_inc
Hi everyone! In an attempt to get to know more of you, I'm curious to know what genres of music some of you listen to and if there are any fellow musicians here? My personal favorite genres is Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. There was always something about the aggressive, loud, and fast style of the genre that always peaked my interest. However, my taste is not limit to that. You'll often find me listening to old pop, eurobeat, and more soft rock stuff nowadays. I play guitar and lead a Thrash Metal band throughout High School as lead guitarist/vocalist.

All of it lol I'm universal and open minded when it comes to music grew up with 4 older siblings all of which had different taste in music. Buuut my favorite is indie rock (: I play guitar, bass, keyboards and mediocre at drums lol Used to play in a shitty ass garage punk band back in high school lmao XD so bad XD Currently trying to start a indie folk band with some friends of mine but life gets in the way you know how it is lol dX

A little guitar, bass and piano. Its actually what I'm currently going to college for. I tend to listen to power metal, Prog metal and Black metal. Every now and then I'll throw in the odd hair metal or Visual Kei, but mostly prefer heavy, atmospheric stuff

i'm really all over the place for genres because for me i really like a powerful sounding vocalist. like i really like it when you can hear their talent by how long they can hold a note or how fast they can spit a rap haha. otherwise i'm weak for rock songs that include piano or harmonicas but don't necessarily sound sad. and then just happier sounding songs i prefer, for lack of a better term

@Zeroboros00 That's sick! I was heavily influenced by melodic death metal when I started to get better a guitar! @inexpensitivity I too am a sucker for a good vocalist! If a singers voice breaks through all the power of the instruments and is able to touch my feel through the power of their voice, then I consider them a great singer!

I like all types. My favorite is Classic-rock (early, like Elvis, Chuck berry, Buddy Holly, etc.) and I really enjoy that crooner music like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole., etc. Jazz is always nice as well. Country and Rockabilly is also very up there. The only type I dislike is Rap and today's Pop. & I can play a bit of piano, would like to learn harmonica and acoustic guitar. Violin if i'm so fortunate

My go to music is Classic Rock (50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s) and alternative rock (90s and 2000s) I love crappy pop music of all eras. It's easy to reference. Rap music can be good, I don't really like modern Country I love swing and jazz too

@crimsonsun3xseries @darkhorse Yeus! I'm not the only one who digs the older stuff that my grandparents probably listened too! There's something about the 50-60s era that had more liveliness to it and then there's the 80s that took everything to a whole new level,

I am a minion of the Metal Militia. As a kid 70-80 rock was wild; the sound and attitude.... I played violin in school but only so-so at music. I tinker a few things on guitar, bass, and keys since it is so easy with a PC and USB cables now. I was more into the technical side and recorded bands and worked at concerts a side job in college. I like almost everything but rock/metal/blues are my meat and potatoes lol. The Cowboy Bebop soundtrack is all masterpiece. http://youtu.be/PJv8sY2CxZA
