Dislike Button for Maiotaku ?

hell_hound7
Honestly i dont want a dislike button just seeing how many people get butthurt and report a comment for the dumbest of reasons, It will be used more to bully people for having a different opinion. You can easily harass someone by disliking their posts, and unlike hearts where you can see who did it, I feel like you shouldnt see who disliked it for anonymity. Therefore you can be dislike bombed by people and not know who it is. Being able to see who did it will just amplify this if all the well known people dislike your post. To some we might not care but to others its a big deal.

There's a reason there's no dislike button on fb. Just get a damn quote function and everything will be good.

Isnt there like an app for mobile now?

@hell_hound7 Dislike feature will be useful in the sense that let's say someone posts something which many others don't like intentionally or unintentionally, dislike feature will indicate people's opinions. Number of likes cannot indicate that properly. People can just comment too, but then the people cannot disagree while being anonymous, and also commenting something may start new arguments. But I understand your point too that how people can misuse the anonymity. I guess emojis is a good alternative for that

I don't think there is a mobile app

There is an app. I haven't seen any differences.

And I don't expect a mobile app to be created. Mobile responsive web applications do the trick. Many small companies and enterprises are now preferring having mobile responsive web applications over mobile apps. Reason? First of all, it requires much more resources to create and maintain a mobile app than a web app. And mobile responsive web apps can provide the same features that mobile apps do, and you don't have to go through the effort to create a web app as well as mobile app. The mobile app industry is slowly declining, mobile responsive web applications are much more viable options, especially with the new web technologies coming out. It is going to be the future, I believe. I may be wrong tho

Oh wait.... When did they create a mobile app?
hell_hound7
Yeah i just dont seen it as a good option, trust me as a mod here i see it all. Someone compliments a girl? Lurkers report them. Someone posts a picturr of an anime character? Reported. Half the stuff reported arent even bannable offenses. Just imagine what a dislike function would do. People would get dislikes left and right by random lurkers and people who cant accept the fact different people have different opinions. If you dislike a post just move. Im pretty sure the like system works as both. We dont have alot of members on here so when a posts gets a massive like count it speaks volumes. Same way getting zero likes shows not many people agree with the post/find it funny/care

The level of drama a dislike button will cause makes me vote no.
