Which art/game/anime style do you like the most?

dialgachampion
Not sure what type you'd call it, but I like the art style used for characters in the Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Akame Ga Kill series.

I like the somewhat realistic and dark, contrasting art. And the piece has to make sense.

I'm not sure T_T.

I like steampunk, Dystopian-esque art design the best, especially cell-shaded. Gravity Rush for example, or those Mech games.

I actually prefer the more retro/classic animation styles of the past. The kinds of shows I used to watch in the 90's think Slayers, the old Ruroni Kenshin episodes, the Sonic movie, or the original Dragonball, etc. Animation nowadays is so clean and the effects are almost all done with digital programs and I kind of miss the good old days when animation had that grainy almost painterly feel to it. I just prefer this: http://38.media.tumblr.com/93d97b6ae587f44d888df83c7de1ef5b/tumblr_nlp2pzENPm1sm3e6vo5_500.gif to this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/e1/af/0c/e1af0cfe51b46d257b998c46e49a06a9.gif Maybe I'm just nostalgic. I do like Yuumei's pictures too btw :)

I also prefer the style seen in stuff from the late 80's and through the 90's. It fit the whole grunge movement of the time, though I'm not sure how prevalent that was in Japan, or if it was just coincidental. http://i.imgur.com/fNwBtaQ.gif

Um, I don´t know about art styles, I like fighting adventure games, and I enjoy shonen type of anime (more if its related to school).

I agree with Burning Halo here. Classic always looked the most distinctive and recognizable as anime to me. I'm kinda a fan of the late 90s to early 2000s animation style. I do love the modern styles too of course. Huge fan of moe, current shonen styles, and a lot of the more quirky, experimental artstyles we've been getting. But that classic water color bishoujo art style... Gawd, I swear its not just nostalgia. There really was something magic about it in the way it evokes emotion, along with a subtle sense of longing. Is that just me who feels the latter? Please tell me its not just me. XD http://ikilote.net/Galeries/News/Manga/Canvas.jpg As for the 80s, I felt like a lot of those were hit or miss, to be honest. Like some were breathtaking, and others were kinda meh.
