I wouldn't use anime photos as references personally. There's a big difference between what something looks like drawn versus what it looks like in real life. Other than that, as long as your hair works with your facial structure and whatnot you should be fine. You can try going to a hair salon and get a consultation so you'll have a more professional opinion :p

Like your face shape, is it round, oval, diamond, triangular, square, etc? Large forehead or small forehead? Some hairstyles are suited better with certain face shapes than others. Also I suppose is consider how much time you wanna put into upkeep and styling. But just talk to a hairstylist about what you want and how much time you're willing to spend on your hair and they should be able to tell you better than people on here can (barring them being a professional stylist haha)

On the styling I dont think I have ever done styling on my hair before. lol In school it was straight military cut all the time because I had no say in it, and then long hair ever since.
