Story Preference Tragedy or Triumph

edtastic
An unexpected tragidy is a little better then an obvious triumph. We all expect the hero to win so much it's gotten boring. The real excitement is if the hero has a possibility to fail. Almost every movie ever has a goal and at the end the person achieves it. Some of the greatest plays in history have sad endings like Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet, SOILER ALERT, everyone dies. Everyone. And it really moved people and made them very memorable. But i guess sometimes the hero has to win to keep a story from being too depressing.

Tragedy by far. I find this makes things more dramatic.. also, although life can be fantastic at times, I think it's exponentially more tragic and my beliefs resonate more with this idea of a sort of poetic struggle that's harsh but necessary. (If you are constantly beat down you have no choice but to grow strong or die, which leads to triumph in certain, special personalities.)

Tragedy. Triumph is too predictable.
