Do guys like it when girls ask them out first?

I scratch my head that still, in this day and age (2015), that there's still some supposed social taboo about a girl asking a guy out. I honestly don't get it. I don't know if it's head games or "it's the manly thing to do!" but if you like a person, ask them out! Don't sit here and beat around the bush like it has to be some game of "dropping hints" you have to play with them. It doesn't come across as "desperate" or "aggressive". If anything, I think the vast majority of guys would be flattered by it. And frankly, if they do take some sort of offense to such an idea, they probably weren't worth your time to begin with. I can understand it not being an easy thing to do, especially if you're afraid of rejection, but if you want a romantic relationship with someone, you have to take a chance and make it known or forever wallow in endless back and forth of "what if..."

I agree with Cecil, in my own experience, this is one of those things where it's usually better to regret something you have done instead of something you have not done. Asking a this guy out I mean.

I would like it if a girl would ask me out. I be super embarrass and stunned for a little bit first and surprise. I probably say something stupid first then say sorry and say yes where would you like to go.

I say if a girl likes a guy she should not miss the opportunity to ask him out. Most guys or at least me, I get to scared to ask a girl out that I like or even tell her I like her. Don't let that guy slip away girls go get him.

Oh my God, my friend told him I was going to do ask him out today in front of me and omg he didn't know it was me and i had to tell him and I did but it was so uncomfortable and humiliating i was trembling and he told me it was ok but he didn't understand why him, he thought i liked someone else and now i dont know we couldn't talk about it because we were suddenly surrounded by people and omg i dont know what to do. I really like him.
