What would you tell someone who doesn't watch anime?

Woah, Italian? Sounds fancy! My presentation's tomorrow so after this post I am going to bed and won't see any further posts. Technically anime are cartoons in that they're animated and meant for entertainment. They can be for both children and adults, or just for adults. There's a large variety of 'em. Cartoons can also be serious ("Watership Down", anyone? "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"? A bit much for kids) yet most cartoons that are produced outside of Japan are made to be suitable for children and are thus aimed at them.
