Horror anime

I first viewed Corpse Party and it was "love" at first sight. A fellow otaku recommended the anime "Another", which I absolutely enjoyed. (Especially the last episode) I've watched Pupa, but, find the manga much more interesting and easier to find the story. Now to my question: Are there any other horror/gore anime out there like "Corpse Party" that has a decent story line? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You've got good taste, pal. I'm glad the intestines and bloody entrails weren't censored in the Corpse Party anime. I'd recommend Shiki. It isn't as sadistic as the one's you may have watched but it has a good story. Horror sure is an under-appreciated genre in the anime industry.

I'm also impressed that they didn't use censorship, overly excited actually. Is Shiki subbed? I can understand/speak some Japanese,more than most otaku, since I've studied it, but, I prefer subbed than raw. I highly agree with horror being under-appreciated. I'm a HUGE fan of most horror movies, so, I thought I would try out a horror anime.

Some good horror animes.... Hmm.. there are tons of good ones.. yet not all of them completely specify themselves as horror with some subgenres.... But if you want someone clearly highlighted as horror... Elfen Lied is a must for you.... Elfen Lied..... Blood+...... Blood-C..... Higurashi no naku koro ni.....(only watched some of this one.. yet its good..) Potentially Angel Beats! and Dansai bunri no crime edge.. alltho these are a bit more... ''cencored'' yet still great anime c:

I've seen Angel Beats.. it's a bit too sappy for my taste when it comes to horror. I'm the type of person whom when wants to watch romance, I enjoy the sweetness of it, when I want to watch horror, I want to see blood and guts spilled. I was thinking of watching Elfen Lied, I heard it's pretty good. Thank you for the suggestions, I'll look into them. ^_^

Angel Beats was so sappy, I don't know any good horror ones though. I mean I think H.O.T.D is a type of horror I suppose.

I would highy recommend shiki its one of my favorites, in fact i think its one of the best horror anime ive seen in my opinion im not sure how good is the manga thou only watched the anime and be warned dont let the begining of the anime/manga fool you it takes a huuuuge twist that will shock you in a good way

I really did like tsukihime although not necessarily horror still good, damn good by my standards (visual novel not the anime). A really good blood and guts one is Violent Jack (the unedited one is brutal lots of blood & guts and unnecessary torture. not so much horror though), Umineko, and higurashi
