Mobile Suit Gundam: Awakening, Escalation, Confrontation

Yoshiyuki Tomino's three-part novelization of the original Mobile Suit Gundam story features many elements from the anime but just as many changes: it features more mature themes, more philosophical discussion, and new characters and backstory sprinkled throughout. The novel still follows the crew of the White Base as they try to survive the One Year War. 9/10
