The mayan culture And NO this is not a doomsday topic

metaljester
Hello anybody who wants to discuss the culture please respond to this i have tooken the liberty to post this in regards to discussing the topic at hand since i know a bit about them
animecountryboy
The Mayans were an interesting culture, i love to study them. They were obsessed with the sky and the stars. Were able to farm in areas we today consider unfarmable.
metaljester
Yes they knew everything about the sky and stars for that reason they were able to know more about the earth itself along with very complicated patterns that allowed them to determine things that even now and days is still considered genius i alwayas wanted to go one of the ruins they still have followers of the maiyan culture present day although they only know so much compared to back then
kyetge
I wish we would learn more from the unadulterated culture the Mayans had if we could go beyond studying the origins of certain cultural days, where Spanish and native traditions intertwine.
metaljester
Yes i agree its hard to do so now considering so much history and culture was destroyed and there is so much more to know
xueli
only thing I know about the mayan culture is that they human sacrificed way less than their neighbors
metaljester
Yes they sacrified for reasons far more reasonable you could say but still i didnt like their reasoning but i do like their knowledge and other things about them
animecountryboy
Funny thing about the Mayans, originally their "wars" were not about conquest and killing. In fact it was more of a hunt for live humans to sacrifice. Each new leader of a Mayan city state built upon the building of the former leaders. The building was like a layered pyramid, a new layer built by each new ruler
metaljester
Yes that is true they didnt simply kill just for conquest or killing all together they had a bit of a reason to do for their beliefs also there underworld was interesting as well for those who know about that
animecountryboy
I can not remember the name of the game, but they had a game where two players had to keep a ball up and the one who let it drop would be sacrificed, in fact the ball, if i remember correctly, represented a God's head or something along that line.
