well, it's all down to what the House republicans do on Thursday. Both sides have their pros and cons though. I mean, yes by all means raise taxes on the more wealthy. But that won't really do anything unless you cut spending as well. Like balancing your checkbook, if you're in debt you increase your income and cut thing wherever you can.

Although I don't buy this idea that the wealthy would invest their money in america. Twelve years they've had a chance to invest in america economy and there's no substancial evidence that the majority of them did so. If anything, they invested most in foreign companies.

do not live in us so don't realy know about the fiscal cliff deal but dont think the rich would invest in the economy anytime soon sinds their they think about the problem from a financial standpoint wath i mean is that they would invest where they would gain the most profit wheter its outside or inside the country only a real patriot would do that and how many of those do you think there are left when it comes to it most would think about their selfes before the country but that's just my theory

The whole deal was pretty meh. The only good that came out of it was a few extensions of existing bills and a much needed tax hike on wealthier Americans. Still no badly needed spending cuts though which was one part of the fiscal cliff I had hoped stayed intact.

I agree @Cecil. There's a lot of entitlement that should be cut. I do disagree with most republicans (and all libertarians I suppose) on where the cutting should be. *sigh* I don't know, it really was a choice between two evil this time around. I'm not exactly thrilled over the NDAA either...

I think they should stop saying "fiscal cliff". And I have no incentive to learn anything more about politics after taking a semester of Economics. Just... ugh.

I love macro! Back in high school I was even contemplating doubling with Micro but senoritis kicked in hard second semester.
