It's always nice to have someone around like that. Just doesn't happen too often if you're single or barely hang out with friends.

@missladyebe .... That is freakin' hilarious. lol @Syaoran - I know exactly what you mean. That special someone next you aside, even just having a group of friends that can appreciate the anime, have like a marathon night or something, would be pure bliss. I started writing a blog a while ago (it died, largely because I forgot my password... <.<) that was pure fiction, told from the perspective of a closet otaku character I created. In it, there was a college club from the UW called the Sakura Club, wherein otaku could find like-minded people, go to events, watch the latest and greatest, borrow manga, etc. If that were to exist irl, locally, I'd be all *_*

I want to start off making a group here around the los angeles area and have meeting i understand some people are fearful meeting strangers thats why i want to start off by doing stuff over here and ease into it until people feel confertable and then go to some event together so we can chat talk, maybe further our new friends ships and go on adventures together

May I make a suggestion, Syaoran? If possible, start a group on the net, like through facebook or something. This gives shy and nervous people a way of communicating without revealing themselves. Then have a meet and greet at a starbucks or a con, so they can be in a public place. Let it ease into an active group. Just a thought. It worked when a friend of mine was trying to set up a spirituality group in Seattle. It gives people a bit of ease if they have somewhere public to meet initially, as it's a little safer, ya know?
