@liloreo During the competition, at the beggining you get to choose the weight yourself for the three main lifts. Each lift is repeated three times throughout the whole competition and each time the weight is increased.

@truffle The hardest part is getting over a plateau. There comes a point where what you're doing doesn't allow for improvement. So you have to make drastic changes to either diet, the way you're lifting or something else. Finding out exactly how to get around this limit is the annoying part. @amir_bahram That would be Carnivor. This stuff is nothing short of amazing. http://1f2pllixxvy220m771sig1f1.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Carnivor-Review-.jpg @candystarmagic The story begins back in the early 90s where fitness, giant muscles and incredible strength were the most common things to see on TV. You had American Gladiators, professional wrestling, Arnold Schwarzenegger films every 5 minutes. So that was the seed for the thought. So by age 11, I asked for a dumbell as a birthday gift since I started noticing "the changes" starting. It wasn't big, it was 22lbs/10kg. From there I just sort of blossomed from there, I was known as one of the strongest/toughest guys in the school from middle up to high school. I had to keep up my reputation. So I did steroids from 19-23 where I was 260lbs of raw muscle. The end result of that was that as soon as I got off of them I bloated into 300lbs of fat. One day when I was 25 I decided I had enough of being fat and got back into it. Leading to the natural results as seen today.

@ahuman They make these amazing Girl Scout Cookie flavored powders at GNC. Tastes like the Thin Mint cookie. They are good for cutting, but not overly good for gains. @hell_hound7 2,700-3,000 calories is when I'm trying to get lean while keeping good muscle. Gaining muscle is around 4,800 calories a day for me, which happens in the fall and winter. Easiest way to consume that much food is actually fast food like Wendys or something which sadly is bad for cholesterol. A lot of protein too. Need 178g of protein during the winter gains. As far as motivation goes. If I am tired, I take pre-workout. If I just don't feel like lifting that day, I march my ass to the basement and stare at the weights until I get the feeling to lift them.

@dyadka_yar I tried pre workout once and It did not give me a significant boost in energy. It actually made made my heart start blasting in my chest and I got very tingly in my limbs. I drink coffee before a workout. It helps me kind of wake up and feel more energetic.

@aleix Protein bars can be a good way to quickly get in some protein and calories. It can work if you have no time and desperately need to eat something before a workout
