Contemporary fighting games

From Street Fighter V to Nitroplus Blasterz. What are your thoughts on this generation of fighting games?

It depends on how you look at them...in the technical sense they are mere shells of what they use to be, especially the Tekken series. The majority of this gen's fighting games are overly flashy. I think KOF 14 may set fighters back on the right track. What's your take on the current gen of fighters?

Some are too 3D, and I seem to prefer 2D for certain reasons. However, some 2.5D ones like Koihime Enbu look interesting.
