That's, I'm starting my manga.

Just though I'd share the first page of my manga. I made it today, it's very crude and there's nothing exciting going on, but it's gonna be a sad story, I want it to look barren, and I'm no good with backgrounds and effects anyways.

Why must you insist on putting me down Dalton smh. I'm not good and I know that, I don't need you being so condescendant towards me all the time.

I don't think he's being condescending per say. Depends on how you look at it. He never said your art was bad, so don't pick on yourself thinking that's what he said. You will get better the more you draw, so if anything, take his words as advice to draw more and continue on with your manga. ^^

BTW, pick up some Scott McCloud books to supplement your journey. I'm looking forward to seeing more pages. Also feel free to message me if you want more serious critique.

Putting you down? if my genuine heartfelt critiques designed to help you onto a path of sublime artistry offends you,then I am sorry I assumed you posted this as an artist, and not as a silly ego boost. Why must I insist on putting you down? It's not about putting down, it's about using my experience to help further you. It's socratic,and simply designed to further your worldview on art. Ask any professional, and you would find out that self loathing and a desire to continously improve are an artists bread and butter. If I didn't think you had talent I would waste my time writing to you. I even downloaded your page and redrew it to figure out how you draw and learn from you, but hey I'm just a soulless dick on the Internet,I guess. I say the same thing to my students every day (I help teach freshman in my graphic design course) If you think I'm mean then wait until.you get to the real world. The real world won't list of your flaws in a respectable manner. It will not talk about your faults, and it will not offer to help. I will never judge you as a person for your art. If I insult your art, I am not insulting you. I insult my own art everyday, I ask to be insulted even. However I will not unreasonably back down on my claim. If you don't draw backgrounds then you won't get better.
