*Update* April 2012
As of this writing I been living on a remote tropical island for the last year in the south pacific sort of close to micronesia where the US Army does missile testing. I plan to move back to the DC area in the summer time. I was born and raised in Northern VA and lived there up until a little over 2 years ago when some unfortunate employment snafoos caused me to go off on an odd adventure of sorts. 6 months in Antarctica at the south pole, followed 6 months backpacking thailand, cambodia, vietnam, and Japan. Followed by the last year in the aformentioned Marshall Islands. I hope to take my newly acquired perspective on life and reinsert myself into society. Hopefully be less petty.
For fun I like to try alot of different stuff. I am currently training hard on tennis and Kitesurfing. Both are challenging and fun for different reasons. In the last year I have become quite an avid scuba diver. Going on over 200 dives in some really fantastic locations (including underneath an 8 foot thick iceshelf in Antarctica). I enjoy the occasional night out at the bars and what not but I generally find them to be very loud and impersonal. Also I cannot dance to save my life. I am still a big nerd. Playing lots of video games and watching anime, comics, sci fi etc. I used to go to conventions and dress up all the time and I hope to get back into it. Although I have gotten away from that stuff in recent years I do look forward to doing it again. I also look forward to returning to the beautiful nature that VA and MD have to offer. Hiking, rock climbing, camping, rafting etc. All of the DC museums are fantastic I used to frequent them quit regularly. I loved trying out snowboarding and hope to get more active with that.
I have a short attention span so I think the rest of this will be a string of incohesive thoughts.
I'm sort of odd and eccentric and definitely a little unconventional but mostly sane.
I am not really much of a music person. I don't really go to concerts or aything. My Ipod is filled with mostly soundtracks and anime music.
I have a dark and dry sense of humor . I find inappropriate things funny. I usually prefer satire over something blatant and direct. So if you are easily offended we probably shouldn't waste each others time.
I'm smart in a logical, common sense sort of way. I catch onto things very quickly, but I'm terrible at anything fact-based; spelling, history, song names...whatever.
I generally come across as open, outgoing and straight forward, maybe even a little friendly, but in the big picture, I tend to be sort of a loner, a homebody, and pretty independent.
Sometimes people say I am too monotone and don't know if I am angry or joking or what. I respond by saying I am never serious about anything.
I am inside my own head too much.
I like to try new things and new places. Not repeating myself if it can be avoided.
I am terrible at cleaning and the general orderliness of my home. Also I have an unhealthy obsession with collecting dvd's and action figures.
I am not religous and generally don't care about politics. Nor do I follow professional sports.
It would be nice for my match to share alot in common with me like hobbies, personality, views etc. But I definetely want them to have their own things that they can teach me about and vice versa. I am really pretty open about new things..
Mostly I am looking for a fun, intelligent, interesting girl that I look forward to spending time with and can grow as an individual with.
