The only version of the otaku dating game I was able to see was the first one, in 2006. During this year's run, I was working my shift in Con Ops at the time. (I looked at the schedule a second ago; good thing I wrote down my work shifts on the back of it.) I'm still looking at whether or not Ohayocon can be done, financially at least. (I've got it listed on here, and I've asked for the time off work just in case.) If so, it would be the longest drive I've ever taken anywhere, and would make the first time I've attended more than two cons in a year.

Thanks for welcoming me! It was really nice of you. I have so far cosplayed as three different versions of Aerith, Yuna from FFX, Super Sailor Jupiter and Yoko from Gurren Lagann. I'll post a few of the cosplays up later

They might not have taken an interest, but at least you're putting yourself out there. Just don't go into a con specifically looking for anything to happen. Be yourself, don't be overly aggressive, just chill and let it happen if it's going to. (Note: Your mileage may vary with the above advice.) And, yes, otaku often remain hidden unless there's a convention. Have you ever gone to MTAC (or its more generalized spin-off, GMX)? It probably wouldn't hurt to give those a shot, if you've got the means to do so. As for stuff that's actually in Paducah, I'm not too sure, since I don't actually live there.

It's not really that hard to find otaku in/near Paducah. If you haven't been to OMGcon before, give it a go next year. (Same goes for Ridonka-con; it's a one-day con that'll be in Murray next year.)
