I'm very into the unfiction/internet horror scene, I have a perpetual nostalgia boner for the early-mid 00s, and I've accidentally started a taxidermy collection.
I dropped out of the University of Virginia, but then again, so did Edgar Allan Poe, so I'm in good company. I studied Mandarin and Japanese when I was at university and still study them on my own to keep it fresh. Wouldn't say I'm fluent, but conversational and always working toward improving.

I've recently been getting back into the weeaboo scene a bit, so I thought maybe I'd attempt socializing with some fellow nerds.
I like scifi and older shows: if it has giant robots and/or giant monsters I'm here for it. I also like historical dramas, older sports anime, the odd slice-of-life series, and I have a soft spot for trashy mid 00s harem series (a la Ken Akamatsu). Used to read a lot of shoujo manga. My tastes and knowledge base are pretty oldschool - tbh if it was made after ~2012 I more than likely don't know anything about it.

Controversy is at least a potential conversation starter, so here are my top three biggest Weeaboo Hot Takes™:
There are exactly 2 good isekai series, (both of which are older and non-traditional by current standards/tropes) everything else in the genre is irredeemable garbage.
Madoka Magica was not good.
Kamina was obnoxious to the point of making Gurren Lagann unwatchable.
