Yes, the people at anime conventions can be terrible at making judgements and negative comments. The only thing that matters is that you are confident and happy in what you're cosplaying as. Turn a deaf ear to all the naysayers in situations like those. =)

I also used to go to conventions alot with my ex but I haven't been able to go in a couple years and I never got a chance to cosplay because I spent my extra money helping my ex with hers. But I look forward to going to more conventions sometime when I have someone to go with.

I am glad that this thread really kicked it off with good conversation. Because I feel that BBW give that good love as well. And I wished that more people would not just focus on the looks process. I mean I won't lie and say that I do spend good money on affordable products and clothes to look my best and not the the stereotype of what fat people are. I think for me it is not me being desperate it is just that I see my friends being happy with their special someone and it is hard for me. It makes me depressed sometimes....
