(Part Four) Last but not least... Simple disbelief. An individual that cannot bring themselves to consciously trust in the possibility of a manifestation won't recognize a manifestation when it slaps them in the face. Also, unless you live in a high-entity environment, or around entities that are "noisy", the likelihood of having a paranormal experience is low. Unless you train in skills that allow you to identify and interact with entities that are simply there, going about their business, there's no reason to encounter them. (Sorry, the word count was too long, but it was important to get the entire thing out, and not leave you with half-thoughts)

Part of the problem most people have is that "proof" thing. A lot of people do, in fact, learn the skills and have experiences that are "proof" enough to them. Those skills, however, fall into the realm of the occult and/or psychic/spiritual abilities, which skeptics find disagreeable. Largely because it's not controlled, physical, and quantifiable. My abilities don't work 100% of the time. This isn't a matter of the skill not working. It's a matter of me, as an individual, being fallible in my skills. This puts a lot of people off. They want proof, something tangible that can be examined and repeated. I can't offer that, and am therefore incapable. Do you see how round the argument tends to be? For myself, it helped being a psychic child. I was already willing to believe because I was already immersed in the possibility. I didn't need tangible proof because I had experiential proof, and I never felt a need to go beyond that. I'm not meaning this to be a criticism or anything, but it is a perspective I encounter a lot, if you know what I mean.
