All PCs should come with a mandatory shock collar and dickery detection device....then only those strong enough to ride the lighting would be capable of high magnitude douchebaggery...and quite honestly they will have earned that right...problem solved while enabling free thoughts to flow more freely globally, technological advances seem to reveal that not a lot of people really have anything relevant to say, and those that think they do are often jerks. Hopefully when virtual reality becomes the norm, you can dual an idiot like that in cyberspace face to face as it were...pain emitters optional.....untill then I recommend a stress ball, or several be kept nearby all computers and other internet capable devices

The problem with debates is when people get offended. Debates/discussions internet or not, aren't inherently bad nor do they bring out the worst in people by themselves. The anonymity of the internet does allow certain people who have that kind of childish mentality to be loud, but generally there's nothing wrong with people having opposing views/opinions and stating such. It's when people start taking someone's opposing opinion as an attack against their own person. But you know, there's always controversial topics out there and people are going to debate about it. If you don't want to hear someone disagreeing with you then just only post PC topics

I love debating opinions myself, i find trying to understand someone's view and explaining your side is a good thing, even if you can't agree. This thread came from the fact i was in an argument/debate with brony haters and showed them how genuinely wrong they are in their assumptions of bronies and my little pony, how it is actually a good show with well done characters, good lessons, and it is funny. The reply i got was "you're just gay" was the essence of their reply. It got me to thinking of all the other times I've been called "gay" or "faggot" in an internet debate/argument...

They should have those fists that you can send out through other people's screens to hit them in the face. xD I've often wondered about the implications behind a comic I once saw depicting that. Debates are fun, to me. I do get a bit out of control when it's not a debate anymore, but a mere argument. It doesn't matter what reasons or anything I put out there if the other person's too high up their own ass to see the evidence and my interpretation of the topic at hand. And it was about My Little Pony? I used to think it was garbage. But I like the first generation toys. And I guess I kinda like the theme song now, too. But I'm of a more appropriate demographic than these "bronies" and their haters.

... yeah, you're just gay isn't usually a very pertinent rebuttal...

Yeah. I know people who are gay. It's pretty dumb when it's used to punctuate anything someone doesn't agree with. But by now, everyone (intelligent) knows that using that phrase in an argument or debate brands the user as an immature punk. xD

I am a bit of a Brony, i will admit that, because it is a good show.
