Coffee Secrets/ What's the technique?

She's using terms to describe the flavors of the bean the same way wine connossiuers describe wine - notes of chocolate, cherry, oak, raspberry, etc. When we were drinking Nespresso coffee regularly, all the sleeves/cups we would buy would come with their descriptions and some really did have floral notes, especially if they were a tropical island bean like Kona (Hawaii) and others played up on the mildness, or suggestions of desserts like the creme Brule flavor she mentioned. If the company thought it tasted better with milk or cream, it would say it on the packaging as well. Espresso is different than coffee. Coffee can be enjoyed, sure, but espresso is more like a treat, especially when you start delving into those luxury beans that have all those flavor profiles. I'm a latte and cappuchino person myself. Only had 1 black coffee I liked and it's a pricey cup.

Plus espresso just looks better. I love how it looks both creamy and frothy as it drips through. We really gotta splurge this year on a machine. We have been putting it off for several years now. Brevelle has been making some decent at home machines of late. Just need to get through to the next big appliance sale and go for it. Hopefully something will happen before Memorial Day. 8/
