Maybe you can start with mixing up two animes and seeing where it goes like if I mix up boku no hero academia and one punch man I can show a fanfic where Saitama inherits one for all from midoriya or his descendants, thus explaining Saitama's powers

Take an anime that you really enjoy the story and play it out like a new character was added a new mc. Like if you've ever wanted to be in that world what would you do? What would be your role? Sometimes I do this to help myself fall asleep but I go into games and WH40k not just anime. Never spent the time to write it all out. I just start a story and continue it when I feel like it then change it up if I get bored or forget where the original story was going or maybe I just found something new to grab my attention
