What Got You Into Anime?

The action was the gateway, but stories about adventuring adversity that had no limits on imagination was what kept me coming for more. FLCL (Fooly Cooly) made me yearn to break the mold and take chances while Wolf's Rain or Spirited Away would make me feel free to explore the unknown. Later shows have also given me the ability to appreciate feelings I don't normally have the liberty to think about. Plus a show such as Death Parade can be helpful to those touched by grief of loss by respectfully portraying the thought process of the mentally ill or those struggling to make sense of their life choices. It provides hope while still being a fun experience about otherwise taboo subject matters.

Oh i went on a rant but never answered the question... woops It started with yu-gi-oh, digimon, and pokemon on 4kids and cartoonnetwork in the early mornings (back when i didnt know the difference between cartoons and anime), but from there went to staying up late for toonami and watching bleach, MAR, inuyasha, and prince of tennis. At least those were the main 4.

Since anime tiddies were taken, the obvious best answer, I'd have to say how different it is from everything else.
