Oh, you're probably referring to "My Bride is a Mermaid". I've heard of it. I haven't watched it but it looks really entertaining. I still want to check out One Punch Man. I've only watched the opening of One Punch Man and I have to say the music rocks. Moon Phase-that's new to me. So it's a supernatural comedy, sounds right up my alley :) It's funny that some people can "get" the Japanese jokes even though they have never lived in Japan. Some are probably just more finely tuned than others, haha. Or maybe break into song: "Germany! Germany! Germany is a really, really nice place. Even though I'm your prisoner you give me food, and it doesn't suck like English food." Yes, it's probably one of the easiest comedy anime shows to jump into and it's fun for all ages. I haven't seen Paprika yet although I've only heard good things. Didn't the movie "Inception" kind of steal its plot from "Paprika"? The movie "5 centimetres per second" would probably be one of my favourite movies.

It's okay, it's easy to fall down that rabbit hole when you are an anime fan. Like you said-it all depends on the viewer's taste and the show. I have nothing sub or dub-I watch both. I've also found that the dubs for some comedy shows are pretty good. It's probably better to hear a the joke than reading it, the joke lands quicker. With the Hetalia dub you can hear the different cheesy accents which helps the comedy too. Anime is awesome though-subbed or dubbed ;)

I switched between the English and Japanese. I didn't find the English dub so bad actually and that seems to be the consensus. There are way, way, way weaker English dubs. It's a very subjective matter though.
