I admire the Japanese culture for many reasons. Their morals and values are traditional, family-oriented, and proactive. I do not admire EVERYTHING about them, but I think they are a dedicated, social, creative culture. In anime, these attributes are apparent, and the comedy displayed is playful, yet has a definitive moral and courteous undertone. I suppose what I like best about it is that right and wrong are more firmly defined, and courtesy, honesty, and respect is more important than obscene humor. American cartoons aren't fit for children any more, and are so riddled with disgusting insinuations and subliminal messages that I feel it poisons their minds. I watch anime to laugh, to hear the same moral messages repeated, and to dream about the 'what if' of life. In short, I don't feel disgusted after watching (most) anime - so I like it.
