New crush

I sort of have the same situation. I know she won't say yes, at least, I highly doubt she will say yes. A bit off topic, should I just start texting her out of nowhere? Like, it seems so weird to me to just text her and say how are you doing.. Then again, I was planning on doing this in person, because I find texting a little lame, the only problem with this is that I have nothing to see her for. Just a little backstory, we're in the same friend group, I talked to her like once. "I highly doubt she will say yes." Is because she said, when we were doing truth or dare (yes we do this, lol), she chose truth, I asked do you like anyone, and she responded no. We've known each other since year 1, and since i didn't pass this year she's one year ahead. I only started liking her since year 3, so I've had my eye on her for 1,5 years. I didn't find this worthy for a topic on relationship advice, so I just posted it here in the hopes people would respond. The question is, is it weird to text someone like her? It's kind of out of nowhere.. and I don't feel like it's natural at all. EDIT: going to create a topic anyways.

I like what @Mharz23 said, don't just go for it. If they're just a "crush" then try to hang out more, and have "some" connection, then you go for it. Just asking someone out, out of the blue isn't the best way to do thing. ( unless you just met, and you don't hang out with the same people, then you just go for the flirting and trying to get a date )

Just go for it and ask her out. Even if she rejects you at least you got it off your chest and you can move on. You'll never know for sure if she's into you or not if you don't try.

This thread is like a million years old at this point but for anyone who struggle with this stuff, just ask. You won't find out if they like you back otherwise. And don't keep them waiting ages neither, you don't want to see the person you like get taken away by someone else so taking initiative is incredibly important.

go for it, if you just let it drag out you will feel like crap and eventually turn bitter.

Yeah, what every other person has said, do it! The disappointment from a moment's rejection is nothing compared to a lifetime of what ifs. :) Get it over with and move on if she rejects you. But honestly I think she'll be glad you chose to be straightforward about your feelings rather than dwell on it.
