Need advice for travelling

jaebee
I really want to travel to Japan one day, but I'm worried that I'll be unprepared. What are some things to consider when travelling? I've been trying to learn some Japanese, but with school and work, it has been difficult to stay focused. If you have traveled, what do you recommend?

You don't need much Japanese to get around, train stations and announcements are mostly in English. For recommendations, it depends on where you want to go. If you only want to see Tokyo and the local area, get a Suica card and charge it and you can easily get around by train. If you want to go further, you could get a JR Pass. You have to compare costs on sites like hyperdia what makes more sense for you.

I just visited Japan and honestly you can get by pretty well not knowing much Japanese. The most important thing is learning trains and train lines.

Make sure you use a map and it's better travel by train!! You also don't need to know a lot of Japanese in order to get by. So don't worry too much about that!

If you are traveling alone, try to avoid anything shady. Even things that seem innocent can be shady. Try to stay public as possible. This is just to stay safe.
