Dating as a Transgender Man

mothman
I have run into problems dating as a transgender man like one gf of mine trying to turn me cis, another girl being a chaser, ect. Have any other of my trans brothers and sisters had to deal with the hard times of even not wanting to be dated in general because of your status as a trans person?

I'm cis myself, so could you educate me here? What sorts of problems are you dealing with in the dating world as a trans-man? Like what sorts of women normally respond to you, what exactly is a chaser, and why the heck would someone choose the "you" that you're offering them, then try to make you backtrack on that? It doesn't really seem fair.

Some women are attracted to the way I look , they like tomboys and that sort of look. But when it gets to the actual part where i'm a man they dont like that, they want a cute butch gf and want me to become cis so they can fawn over me and still keep me as their tomboy/ butch special cutie or whatever, i dont really get it either. As for chasers its a word that applys to men or women who fetishize trans people and only want to date them because they are trans. By the way thank you for being so respectful with your questions.

And thank you for your informative answers. All of the trans people I know (offline) are women, so I'm not as familiar with the social dynamics of transmen. It really does seem like the dating market you have to choose from is very limited though. I'm assuming you are only interested in girls, and a lot of girls who are both accepting of trans culture, and open to dating said individuals, aren't known to be moderate about it. Just make sure that you convey that you're a human male, not a niche social trophy that exists for someone to validate to herself how open minded she is. The chasers are another thing. I mean the world has their fetishes, and should be allowed to own them. They're entitled to them, and should never feel ashamed of that. But for the same reason I just mentioned, I could certainly see why you'd want to stay away from them. If that's all you are to someone, that's a very toxic place to be. And now that I think about it, the answer's obvious. If you're a transman dating a woman who is attracted only/mostly to other women, then of course they will always view you as more of a woman than a man. Jeez, you really are in a tricky place in the dating world, aren't you? @__@

I'm a man not a women no ts a little weird saying that but what i think you meant to say tho was females make better men than males lol. But I dont personally find that offensive. and I am getting surgery , I'm getting top surgery but not bottom.

Don't worry beserker I know all that. No one should ever feel entitled to a relationship or sex. And I am always up front about my status as a trans man.
