Do you really need your bf/gf to like anime?

I would like to have a gf who atleast know what anime is. Everytime, I hear that a girl likes anime, I try to get closer to them as friends and sees where that goes

If i know she wont b**** at me for lovin it so much then no. Common interest is always a plus. Anime/cosplay isnt my main hobbie its music production so if she love me for my Musical skill and isnt annoyed by my anime habbits then f*** it.

i like anime but im not bonkers for it, so i really dont need him to be. just be open-minded and respectful about it is enough for me. same goes for any interest that we dont share and i will reciprocate

Whether or not this might be shallow, I don't think that I could be with someone (For a long time) if they didn't like anime or cosplayed. I just talk about it too much, because it's such a big part of my life. If they didn't like it, they'd probably hate me xD So really, it's in their best interest that they like it, hah.

not required but It would be nice as it is a big part of my life that I would like to share with someone else. Not just the cartoon it self but I love the art and culture as well but it's not a problem just a preference.
